Pandav Leni Cave

    Pandav leni Cave are a group of around twenty four 1200-year-old caves.They were excavated as home for the saints between the second half of the 1st Century B.C. and the end of the 2nd Century A.D. by the Buddhist Kings of the Hinayana faith.

    They are located on a tableland on the Trirashmi Hill. It may be training center for Buddha worshipers. The cave complex contains large caves which were the meeting places of the disciples, where sermons were preached. The caves were well designed with several water tanks chiseled into the rock. Out of the 24 caves, 3, 18, 20 caves are really worth mentioning for their outstanding sculptures.  Icons of Bhagwan Gautam Buddha & Bodhisatva are wonderful crafted. During llth century Jain influence these were home to Jain saints and idols of Tirthankar Vrushabhadev, Veer Manibhadra, Devi Ambika installed. Idols of Buddha and Bodhisatva locally identified as of Yudhishthir, Bhim, Arjun, Nakul, Sahadev, Shrikrishna, Karna and hence the local name Pandav leni.

This is one of the beautiful places worth visiting. Many a mountaineers and trekkers frequent the place early in the morning or in the  evenings. Not very far off from city, it is still a very peaceful place and gives a very beautiful panoramic  view of the city.The caves are open for visitors from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. everyday

Dadasaheb Phalke Smarak

    A must visit place in the Nashik is Phalke Smarak. It has spread across  29 acres and it holds a pretty garden in its courtyard. Placed in the pretty surroundings of a majestic Pandava caves,  its having lush green surroundings, thousands of trees. The building contains a place for meditation, a main conference hall and an exhibition center. The Samarak also displays with an eloquent version of the works of the Dadasaheb Phalke.

Dadasaheb Phalke

    Dadasaheb Phalke is the Father of Indian Cinema. Dhundiraj Govind Phalke alies Dadasaheb Phalke is the first film maker of India. With his struggle to establish a good business he created first Slient Motion Picture of India. The name of that movie is 'Raja Harishchandra' which was realesed in 1913. Ignorance and resistance of society were major obstacles in film making. Phalake struggeled a lot to reach out to people and make them accept motion picture. Indian govenment gives The best film award with name of Dadasaheb Phalke. A memorial to this great visionary, Dadasaheb Phalke Smarak is committed towards edifying, devout and rational development.
